With the later models with 180-degree engine (eg. Jota) Laverda had used a Bosch-ignition with separate boxes. The pickup coils, which were now on the left side, had been much better, but the not available ignition boxes are often broken. Also the sudden pre-ignition adjustment generates a jerky driving in the overrun condition.
The ZDG3 guarantees a smooth and powerful engine running over the entire rpm range.

The ignition consists of the sensor circuit board, a driver sleeve for the sector disk, the sector disk and of course the ignition box. The ignition coils can be continued to use.
The adjustment is simply done by turning the sector disk, a light emitting diode indicates the correct position.
