The XS1100 is fitted with an CDI ignition system with supporting vacuum advance, and over the years this vacuum timing control works more badly up to the total loss. The only replacement often is used and very expensive, therefore it is useful to equip also this engine with a digital ignition system. Selecting several ignition curves offers the possibility to compensate the vacuum advance.
For the fitting of the new ignition system remove all components from the baseplate and instead of them fit the Hallsensor PCB. The shaft of the disassebled mechanical advance unit is used for the magnet disk driver. The adjustment occurs simply by turning the magnet disc and the correct position is indicated by a LED.
