Mechanical advance unit and breaker points will be replaced by the printed circuit board and a magnetic disk. The adjustment happens via turning the disc while one piston is exactly on TDC and a little LED indicates the correct position. Further adjustments are not necessary.

Each cylinder has a self-sufficient ignition, i.e. three micro-controllers for three cylinders, thus three light-barriers. This has the advantage that the advanced ignition is precisely computed for each cylinder.
