The pickup coils of the early 1000 ccm models are often very desolate, the connections are corroded or the coil is simply interrupted. Unfortunately the coils can't be changed individually or removed completely because they are part of the baseplate. Therefore a new baseplate for the power coils and of course the pickup-PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards) is manufactured. In addition the high voltage coil of the HKZ ignition will be modified, so that it can be used as a power coil too. The increased performance of the alternator now is a problem for the simply rectifier and the battery. Recommended is a alternator controller which limits the charging current to prevent the battery for damage (particularly importantly for gel batteries). A suitable controller is Typ2 (two-phase with a center connection) in order to avoid balancing currents between the coils. By the omission of the HKZ box now also normal ignition coils will be necessary, recommendable are the DYNA (green), one with double output and one with one output. For modifying the alternator the (complete) old baseplate or all coils are required.
