The original contact breakers and advance unit had been divided in two parts on each side of the cylinder head. The advance adjustment by a shaft though the cam shaft is not only very complex, but also very trouble-prone. By the change to the electronic ignition the complete mechanical unit will be replaced and adjustment shaft and cam shaft will be firmly connected. Possible bearing failures between adjustment shaft and cam shaft doesn't matter any more.
On the left side breaker plate and cam are replaced by the printed circuit board and pulse disc.

For the adjustment the pistons must be brought to TDC and the pulse disc must be positioned as shown on the picture. A small LED on the light barrier PCB serves as help, toggling in that position. That's all, the engine is ready to start.
